Bol- Sexual Orientation of truck artists

In today’s class the question of the sexuality of truck artists came up and some of fellow students established them as Homosexuals. I think the term “Homosexual” should not be used for some kind of child molesters as we see in the movie. These kinds of people are in abundance in Pakistani lower class population who use children for their sexual lust. If they have been Homosexual then they would not find Saifi attractive in the first place because homosexuality requires same sex attraction and we know that Saifi is not a man rather it was the girlish characters of Saifi which made them to molest him. As far as the relationship of truck drivers among themselves is concerned we again cannot establish them homosexuals just because they have a little bit of physical intimacy among them. Again it is normal in Pakistani men of a particular class to behave like this for example I have seen many times people walking on the streets holding each other’s hands this behavior doesn’t make them Homosexuals. Why men from a particular social class behave like this? Perhaps it is because of the social limitations on sexual behavior with women. Although this would sound funny but when Men are not allowed to hold women’s hands in public they would eventually end up holding each other’s hands. 

We cannot define those truck artists as having a particular sexual orientation. Their sexual drives are dependent on their lust and they will readily do anything which they find attractive. This is also a whole different crisis in Bol other than Saifi or Hakim Hashmatullah because they are also a part and product of our society.
